A Walk Around Charminar

Good Morning! the other day we went to Charminar for shopping for a wedding, we started at 10 am till  that time the shops were not opened as they stay up late in the night, sometimes there are restrictions by the police to shut shop by 90.30 pm or by 10.30 pm, so we looked for a place to have our breakfast, we spotted some vendors , who were making some south-Indian dishes, we ate some dosa, and uppma  as it is too early to eat anything heavy.
we went around the stores for shopping a lehanga or gagra a lengthy, pleated skirt for my daughter, and some accessories for the wedding,, as we did window shopping, we realized that we can almost get anything in and around charminar with good quality as well as cheap quality, of clothes, jewellery, attar/ perfumes, shoes/slippers, cutlery n ' crockery,

Haleem is one of the delicacy of Hyderabad, it is available throughout the year

Attar is of the best perfumes we get in charminar, they are so good they work well or better than most of the deo body sprays,

we also can get old and rare coins for those who love to collect them and for many historians a lot of antic shops are located in the by lanes of charminar

on the way we bought the famous patti samosas of irani samosas, they are also called onion samosas, they are easy to prepare as we get the ready to cook patties, or strips of samosas, in which we can fill any kind of stuffing and fry them , theses patties are available in almost all the food malls, food world, etc, you should ask for samosa patties they come in different sizes

after we shopped for the lehangas, which are of both the good and cheap quality, which we can bargain, one thing i like about charminar , everything is bargainable, and the quality too is good as they are wholesale shops, we get the same materiel in the branded shops in Secunderabad, and we can get more accessories to match our out-fit

at lunch time we went to the road-side eatery and ordered for chicken 65 and tandoori dished, they are good to eat, as they are like finger food, light but filling and finished off our lunch with the famous lassi, which is made of yoghourt/ curds, whers it is thich, sweet and a little of milk cake/ kalakandh is put for topping with dry fruits, sometimes it is flavoured with rooafza , falooda, and other fruits, and served in a tall glass where a spoon is given so that we can eat the lassi rather than drink it, as it is a cooling and refreshing and a healthy drink for summer

Sometimes the lassi is topped with ice cream and served with a spoon

Biryani and boti-kebab and other kebabs are also readily available as we don't have to wait when we give the order, it is good to eat these dishes in the evening for a quick dinner,

Also paya curry {legs of goats] is a delicacy with nan, a soft bread baked in the tandoor.

In Hyderabad there are many spots where they believe in feeding the pigeons, they say it gives us some kind of peace and are closely associated with the mosques all over India

After coming from charminar, we come across the cross road of Mozamjahi Fruit Market, a very old and famous land mark, where all the fruits are loaded and unloaded for wholesale selling , there we get a nice ice cream, of all types and kulfi also.it is a must have spot, or else our trip is not completed without enjoying on theses mouth-watering treats.

And finally end the day with the famous Irani Chai and Osmania biscuits

This street food is available on all days thru' out the year if not for shopping we should go to Hyderabad only to explore the city and all its tourist spots to get the feel of the people and place, I live in Hyderabad but believe me I just don't have enough of it , there is so much to see and go, and I love my city because we hyderabadi's are the most hospitable and welcome new people very openly, when I see some incidents, I still believe there are good and helpful people still  in this this world

So long Friends, for now, In the next blog I will give you recipes for some of the best cuisine of Hyderabad and all the places to visit, as I am a good cooking , I will share with you all my cooking experiences and I also teach Food and beverage Service and Food Production in the Hotel Management Collages
